The Ultimate Greek Travel Bucket List
I will have to start this one with a quote from my favorite blogger Helene from Helene In Between.
“I haven’t been everywhere but it’s on my list.” – Helene
Personally, I would say “I haven’t been ANYWHERE but it’s on my list.” Okay. Almost. I’ve been on some school trips, and some family vacation when I was younger, but I don’t remember much of it.
My dream is to see the world. I think everyone wants to see the world. I mean come on! The world is huge! Every time I’m “wanderlusting” (is that even a word?) I’m just amazed at how big this world is. And I want to see it. All of it. So… I have to start from somewhere right?
Right now, I’m living in Greece. One of the most beautiful countries in the world with about 200 islands (inhabited), the richest history and so many beautiful cities. That’s why I decided to start from here. I’ve made a list, with every place that you have to see in Greece and I call it: The Ultimate Greek Travel Bucket List!
I’m not sure if I will be able to visit all those places, but I will try to see as much as I can! Because come on, it’s Greece! Everyone wants to visit Greece at least once in their lifetime, so from this point, I’m very lucky to live here. But enough talking! Let’s start with that list!
The Ultimate Greek Travel Bucket List!
I divided the list between Islands and Main Land. And then break it down to “location” categories.
- The Samaria Gorge
- Agios Nikolaos
- Mount Olympus
- The Prespa Lakes
- The Kerkini Wetlands
- The Dhadhia Forest Reserve
- Lake Plastira
- Pindhos Mountains
- Vikos Gorge / Zagori
- The Acheron River
- Mount Parnassus
- Cape Sounion
- Lake Marathon
- The Acropolis
- Plaka / Monastiraki
Athens has so many places and things to see, so I guess I won’t be listing them all down. Just pointed the most “known” ones.
- Sparta / Mystras
And this is the end of our list! Of course, that’s not all, there are way too many cities and villages to visit if you truly want to see it ALL. Here I just highlighted the most basic places to visit. And they were quite a lot! 116 places if I counted right. That’s a big number I know. But each of these places totally worth a visit!
What do you think? Have you ever been in Greece? If yes, where? And did you like it? Who am I kidding you totally liked it! Either way, I want to read your experiences from my country in the comments. What are you waiting for?
